At Methuen Credit Union, we are proud to stand beside our members, Board of Directors and staff, not just in banking, but in life.

Today, we are honored to support Danielle Ciaccio and the Credit Unions Kids at Heart Team as she runs the 2026 Boston Marathon to raise funds for Boston Children’s Hospital pediatric neurological research. Danielle is running in honor of her son, Jackson.

Jackson’s Story

At just 17 months old, Jackson suffered a massive stroke and was later diagnosed with a rare, progressive brain disease called Moyamoya, a condition that restricts blood flow to the brain and can lead to debilitating strokes if untreated.

Thanks to groundbreaking care and surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital, Jackson underwent two successful brain surgeries to restore blood flow to his brain. Today, he is thriving in 8th grader, strong, determined, and exceeding every expectation. His journey is a testament to resilience, medical innovation, and the power of community support.

The Impact of CU Kids at Heart

Founded in 1996, the CU Kids at Heart Team has raised over $10 million for pediatric research at Boston Children’s Hospital, supporting advancements in:

  • Pediatric neurological diseases
  • Moyamoya research
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Pediatric epilepsy and seizure disorders
  • Pediatric brain cancer

These funds directly support doctors and researchers working to develop life-saving treatments for children worldwide.
